Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about notarization, commissioning, and how to prepare for your appointment.

What type of ID is accepted?

Valid (non-expired) photo ID issued by the government—for example: driver’s licence, health card (where accepted for ID purposes), passport, photo/resident card, or PR card.

Do documents need to be signed beforehand?

Documents must typically remain unsigned until you attend before the notary or commissioner, unless you are instructed otherwise for your specific document type.

Do you offer online notarization?

Documents that meet the necessary legislative requirements may be eligible for remote online commissioning (RON). Availability depends on the document and jurisdiction. Québec is excluded from our RON offering.

Do you draft documents?

We draft documents within paralegal scope, such as affidavits, sworn statements, and declarations.

We do not draft certain items that require a lawyer or other regulated professional—for example: invitation letters (lawyer or immigration consultant), wills, powers of attorney, and other specialized documents that must be completed by a lawyer.

Where are you located?

160 The Westway, Unit 16D, Etobicoke. We serve Toronto and the GTA; online commissioning is available across Ontario where eligible.

What are your hours?

9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. by appointment. Walk-ins are accommodated when possible.
